Need Ideas for a New Career Path?

If your stuck for ideas on where to look for new job opportunities, make a list.

No really. Take a sheet of paper and draw a line down the middle. Now on one side list all the things that you enjoy doing. Delve deep inside yourself and be honest. What are the activities that you really like and do best. Don't worry about being specific, just let things flow.

On the other side, make a list of the activities you don't enjoy. Again just let these ideas flow and don't worry about specific's.

After your done, go over the list of likes and try to match each one to a specific job. Write these down in a new list. Try to list as many as you can for each "Like". Once you've got as many jobs as you can think of for your "Like" list, use your "dislike" list to narrow down your Job list. I use tick marks to show that a particular job has some aspect I dislike. The more tick marks a job has the less desirable it is for me.

You should now have a focused list of jobs that you would enjoy working at, which you can now target.
